Via Finestrat to the Amadorio reservoir. Contrary to what most maps say, you can pedal over the dam, then through the tunnel under the rocks on the other side of the reservoir, on concrete paths. Then you can pedal along a checkpoint (railing) and continue towards Aigües (this climb is called Alto de Querenet).
Then you descend to the town of Busot and further towards the coast. The landscape is getting drier, this part of the province of Alicante has the most hours of sunshine in Spain (except for the region of Andalusia). After pedaling a few kilometers through the rather arid and messy landscape of the plain, it becomes beautiful again: you climb the Alto de Monnegre. The road becomes very narrow after about two kilometers, but it is well paved, but the asphalt is a bit rough. The traffic is barely here. The climb is super irregular.
After passing the summit at an altitude of 645 meters, you descend to Jijona (written in Catalan Xixona). On the way down you reach a roundabout, you leave the route (100 meters) to admire the old castle of Jijona. Jijona is well known for its delicacy that is made here: the nougat or nougat. After the passage from the city center it becomes ascent to Torremanzanas. In Torremanzanas turn right to the top of (the easy side of) Alto de Teix.
Through Relleu and Finestrat and Puerto de Finestrat you will finally reach Benidorm again.
