Discover all benefitsNot by the CV-70 towards La Nucía, but by Alfas del Pi and Bello Horizonte. Then the track goes to Bolulla. Once there, the main road is abandoned and follows the 3.8-kilometre-long Tabernhorn: little is known about it on the Internet, but the road is cyclable (partly asphalt, partly concrete road in the very steep parts). In a description that can be found on the Internet (https://nl.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=2484679), the Tabernhorn is compared to the Angliru: there is a 1-kilometer long stretch with an average of 16% ascent.
I cycled this road at the end of March 2017, and I had never seen such a steep road. It is advisable not to descend this path due to crushed stone. On strava, this piece is known as Subida Rafalet.
Then it passes through Coll de Rates to Pedreguer, passing through the Montes de Beniquasi. Via Muntanya de Pedreguer (a climb) and the road through the beautiful valley of the Gorgos River, the track goes to Lliber. Then the track goes to Benissa, and you end up on the busy N332 that descends to Altea, and then (no longer on the N332) towards Benidorm.
