Girona: MTB adventure up to Els Angels

This medium length mountain bike track leads to the top of the famous Els Angels climb (popular among road cyclists as well, by the nearby road). Heading out of Girona to the east, we climb quickly to Torre Gironella, then descend, and from kilometre 3, climb consistently along the gravel roads and singletrack which make up the Gavarres natural reserve, just behind the city to the east. We occasionally cross the road up to Els Angels, or ride along it for a minute or so. There are toilets, a restaurant, a viewpoint, and church at the Sanctuary dels Angels, at the summit.
