AzureThe third stage broadly follows the path taken by El Cid when he was exiled by the King of Castile. The route has a rather undulating and winding course. The target is Santo Domingo de Silos, with its monastery and its songs of the Benedictine monks.
The Spanish interior is sparsely populated in this region. The villages we pass often have no more than a few farms. Cafes or restaurants are rare.
