El Teide Challenge v1 (derived)

This ride departs from Palm Mar, why? I rode the route with the organization of the local club that organizes the El Teide Challenge on the first Saturday after the autumn holiday. What should you know about the ride to the top? The last chance to stock up is in the village of Vilaflor, after which it’s another 25km of suffering to the foot where you can visit the crater with the cable car, which is still 10km past the sign "El Teide". Contrary to what I've seen on several sites, the average climb percentage is higher than 5%. Also, make sure to bring warm clothing, as it can get quite windy up top, and although the distance between Vilaflor and the peak of this ride is only 25km, the temperature difference is significant. From San Miguel de Abona, you drive to Granadilla de Abona and then turn left to Vilaflor. It can also be earlier, as you will see along the way, but this section is shorter, yet much steeper.
