The Paimpont Forest contains the tomb of Merlin the Magician. The tomb consists of two pieces of natural stone, a relic of a dolmen. It is believed to date back to 1500 BC. Notes from Merlin admirers are still left there every year. The Fountain of Youth is also located near the tomb. It is surrounded by sturdy fences to prevent too many visitors from drinking, bathing, or taking buckets of water home. The Paimpont Forest is known as Brocéliande, although this is not the official name of the area.
