Cerdon is located in the west of Bugey. The Bugey or southern Jura, an area in the department of Ain in the Rhône-Alpes region, is known for its wines: white wines based on chardonnay and altesse, red and rosé wines based on gamay and pinot, as well as the marc and the fine du Bugey. Cerdon is in turn known for its vins rosés pétillants or sparkling rosé wines. The pétillant de Cerdon is produced according to the méthode champenoise or the méthode de Die. Rosé bubbles are available in the caves or on the terrace of La Vieille Côte, a café-restaurant located at Place de la Mairie. This central square has a small parking lot and is therefore a great starting point for a short walk along the caves, the winemakers' houses, the fountains, and stone bridges of this attractive wine village. In the old center, there is also a French, industrial archaeological curiosity in the form of a copper museum, complete with workshops and a shop.
