Inaugurated in 1932, the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium, named after Félix Bollaert, director of the Compagnie des Mines de Lens, who built it, quickly became the heart of the town of Lens. A stronghold of French football, the stadium can seat up to 38,000 people, more than the population of Lens combined (36,000 inhabitants). At each meeting of the Racing-Club de Lens, it brings together the supporters of Lens, known for the warmth of their welcome and consecrated "best public in France".
At least twice a month, the stadium is set ablaze and vibrates to the sound of the fans' songs. Between 20,000 and 30,000 people wearing the Blood and Gold colours, united behind a team!
