The Musée des Arts et Métiers pays tribute to human ingenuity and the pioneers of the industrial era. Created in 1794 in the former priory of Saint-Martin-des-Champs, this temple of technology houses a remarkable collection of objects and drawings, organized into 7 thematic collections: scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, mechanics and transport. Among the treasures on display are Louis Blériot's plane, the first to cross the English Channel, and Foucault's pendulum, developed around 1850, which was used to demonstrate the Earth's rotation.
