Le Barroux is located on the edge of the Dentelles and the plain of Carpentras. The village is completely dominated by the castle. The castle dates from the 12th century but was thoroughly renovated in the 16th century. It is now one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in the region.
The castle was damaged during the French Revolution and abandoned in the 19th century. The castle has been renovated since 1960. It can be partially visited.
After our visit we drive on. We take the road at the bottom of the village that leads us to the main road D938. On that main road we drive to the left for a moment and then we turn right. We take the D13 in the direction of Caromb.
