The Louvre and its pyramid were depicted being destroyed in the opening scenes of the 2004 film, Team America: World Police. It was also featured in the 2006 film, The Da Vinci Code. The film crew were permitted to film inside of the Louvre for part of the film. While some of the scenes that were shown to be in the Louvre were actually on set, most of the scenes in the main area of the museum were shot on site.
