In the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, it belonged to the fief of the dukes of Poitiers and Toulouse, until it became the property of Pope Gregory VI in 1274. In 1565, the inhabitants bought their village back from the Holy See. Since the establishment of the department of Vaucluse, Faucon has been part of France.
