Braids

Tresses is a French commune with 4,895 inhabitants in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It belongs to the Créon canton in the Bordeaux arrondissement. The commune of Tresses is located in the metropolitan area of Bordeaux. The town is situated on a plateau that is 70 to 80 meters high, east of the outskirts of Bordeaux. To the north, the commune is bordered by National Road 89, and to the south by RD 936. Along this southern connecting road between Bordeaux and its hinterland is an important industrial area for the commune. About half of the commune's area is used for agriculture, with about a third dedicated to viticulture. It lies within the Entre-Deux-Mers region. The commune is crossed by the small river Gua, which is known here as Desclaux.
