Chavelot is a French municipality with 1,367 inhabitants in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region. It belongs to the Épinal arrondissement and the Épinal community association.
The municipality of Chavelot is located seven kilometers north of Épinal, the capital of the Vosges department. The 6.2 square kilometer area of Chavelot includes an area between the Moselle, which borders the municipality to the east, the Canal des Vosges running parallel to the west of the Moselle, and the gradually rising forest area of the Forêt de Souche-Thaon to the west, of which the municipality has an approximately 50 ha share. Between the Moselle and the Canal des Vosges, three gravel pits have been excavated for construction materials, covering a total area of about 35 ha.
