At the beginning of the Franco-Prussian War, heavy fighting took place around Morsbronn. This is commemorated by a monument for the fallen of the 32nd Thuringian infantry regiment and a monument for the French fallen during the Battle of Reichshoffen on August 6, 1870.
Morsbronn-les-Bains was part of the Wissembourg arrondissement until it merged with the Haguenau arrondissement on January 1, 2015, to form the current Haguenau-Wissembourg arrondissement. On March 22 of the same year, the canton of Wœrth, to which the municipality belonged, also merged into the canton of Reichshoffen, which was formed that day.
