Morienval is a French commune with 1,088 inhabitants in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region; it belongs to the Senlis arrondissement and the Crépy-en-Valois canton. The Morienval Abbey was one of the most powerful in Valois; it owned several mills as well as rights to the Compiègne forest. The abbot was appointed by the king. In the 9th century, coins were minted in the name of the place, suggesting the existence of a market.
