Grandpré is an ancient French commune located in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region.
Grandpré is situated in the center of the gorge that bears its name, cutting through the Argonne forest from east to west. The Aire, which flows through Grandpré, was captured by the Aisne, opening this vast gorge in the secondary era, with these two rivers framing the Grandpré region to the east and west.
