Villasavary is a French commune with 1,211 residents in the Aude department in the Occitanie region. The present-day location was formed by the merging of several small communes during the French Revolution. Villasavary is located on a hill not far from the Canal du Midi and close to the old trade route Narbonne–Carcassonne–Toulouse in the southeastern landscape of Lauragais. The town is about 71 kilometers to the southeast of Toulouse; about 13 kilometers to the northwest lies Castelnaudary. Carcassonne is about 30 kilometers to the east. The canton's capital, Fanjeaux, is located about six kilometers to the south; Laurac, the former capital of Lauragais, lies about six kilometers to the west.
