At the entrance to the Thur valley, nestled at the foot of the Vosges foothills, the town of Thann welcomes you to a warm urban setting that invites you to take a stroll.
The old town unfolds around the Collégiale Saint-Thiébaut, a jewel of Gothic architecture built between the 13th and 15th centuries, and at the foot of the ruins of the Château de l'Engelbourg. Stroll through its narrow streets and discover its secrets and rich heritage: 16th-century houses, fountains, oriels, 14th- and 15th-century towers and fortifications, the quays of the Thur? To admire the town from above, a 20-minute walk will take you to the ruins of the Château de l'Engelbourg, the witch's eye that watches over the town.
Thann, the southern gateway to the Alsace Wine Route, has a long tradition of winegrowing, thanks to the famous Rangen vineyard, entirely classified as a Grand Cru. Thann is part of the network of the 100 Most Beautiful Detours in France.
