Molsheim, which dates back to Roman times and whose predecessor name (Mollesheim) was found in writing in 812, became famous worldwide after Bugatti established its factory there in 1909. The modern factory (Bugatti Veyron) is located outside the built area. Thanks to VW, the name endures.
