La Gouesnière [la ɡwɛnjɛʁ] is a French commune located in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region, populated by 1,943 inhabitants. The climate that characterizes the commune was classified, in 2010, as "temperate oceanic climate," according to the climate typology of France which then counted eight major types of climates in mainland France. In 2020, the commune fell under the "oceanic climate" type in the classification established by Météo-France, which now includes only five major types of climates in mainland France. This type of climate is characterized by mild temperatures and relatively abundant rainfall, distributed throughout the year with a slight maximum from October to February.
