Cosswiller is a French municipality with 563 inhabitants in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region. It is a member of the municipal association Mossig et Vignoble.
Cosswiller is located on the edge of the Northern Vosges. The town center is situated in the valley of the Sathbach, about 4.5 kilometers from Wasselonne and 26 kilometers northwest of Strasbourg, surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Romanswiller, Westhoffen, and Allenwiller. The Pfälzerwald-Vosges du Nord biosphere reserve is located about 15 kilometers to the north. Cosswiller lies in a risk area for potential flooding of the Mossig. In December 1999, there were floods and landslides during Hurricane Lothar and the subsequent storms. The Mossig experienced particularly severe flooding in the years 1983, 1990, 2001, and 2004. In January 2004, the entrance to Cosswiller was under water.
