Meuse

The Maas (French: Meuse) is a river in Western Europe. Because it is mainly fed by rainwater, the water level can vary greatly. The river flows through France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, the Maas is the southernmost of the major rivers.
The Maas springs in France at Pouilly-en-Bassigny on the Plateau of Langres, an important watershed; the sources of the Seine and the Marne are also located here. The river crosses the French and Belgian Ardennes in a northern direction. Along the way, it passes Verdun and Sedan, from where it is navigable. In Givet, south of Dinant, it crosses the border with Belgium.
