The Dune Marchand is a national nature reserve, encompassing a part of the dunes between Bray-Dunes and Zuidkote.
The dune was classified in 1974 and between 1980 and 2004, 108 ha of dune area was acquired by the Conservatoire du littoral. The nature reserve includes 83 ha of it here.
