The MNO is an association offering educational activities for the general public and school children through nature outings and exhibitions. It therefore has 3 main missions:
- to discover the natural heritage of Laonnois;
- share knowledge on fauna and flora;
- design or associate with events with a strong environmental vocation.
To do this, it has an ornithological and ecological museum that concentrates a large number of animals frequently encountered in our region. Finally, it is ideally located on the shores of Lake Ailette, a stopover for many poultry species and a place where some rare floral species thrive.
