Around 1220, on a site already occupied since the 10th century, Enguerrand III closed the city with an enclosure.
The fortress of Coucy is flanked by three gates. The visitor first enters the upper town, surrounded by 2 km of curtain walls, by one of the three fortified gates. The ramparts offer you a walk of 3 kms that will make you discover the gazebo, the medieval garden, the church, the museum, remarkable views and the animal park.
