Description

This fortified church of Jeantes has a gigantic surface of 400m2 with murals and frescoes by Karel Eyck from 1962 and also stained glass windows. Various techniques were used for the realization of the paintings: oil paintings, graffito, frescoes depicting scenes from the gospel and landscapes by Thiérache and at the level of the choir a beautiful Saint Martin in all its splendor. The latter in the colors of Thiérache is the centerpiece. For the stained glass windows, a special technique was used by Eyck: superposition of layers of glass that illuminate the face of Monique Carlin, our heroine, and in this way he tells us her life story.
