This impostante abbey was built in the early 12th century and St Norbert established 12 canons from Prémontré here.
This abbey, which owed its wealth mainly to viticulture in the high-altitude part of the city, has a lot of prestige in the Middle Ages.
Today the old abbey house (closed for visitors), a country house called 'vide-bouteilles' and the cloister that led to the Library of Laon, are still left.
And in the abbey church you can still admire beautiful woodwork from the 18th century, 2 sunscreens and a recently rediscovered nativity scene from the 14th century near the choir.
