Commissioned by Saint Louis in the middle of the 13th century to house the relics of the Passion of Christ, the Sainte-Chapelle and the Conciergerie form the last vestiges of the Palais de la Cité, the first royal residence until the 14th century. This jewel of the flamboyant Gothic style has two levels: the lower chapel with a superb azure blue vault with golden lilies and the upper chapel with its superb red and blue tinted windows.
