CALVARY OF THE MARINERS
Fishing is a tradition here, and many people from Bray-Dunes embarked for Iceland. In memory of the 41 fishermen lost in various shipwrecks from 1888 to 1904, the calvary of the mariners, created at the initiative of Abbé Catry, the parish priest of Bray-Dunes, was inaugurated on March 22, 1953.
By the shoulders of men, many sailors, retirees, and even children brought the materials needed for the construction of this cross, which stands 11 meters high, reaching a height of 33 meters above sea level.
From this recently restored monument, there is a panoramic view of part of the Perroquet Dune.
