Col de la Schlucht

The Col de la Schlucht is a mountain pass over the Vosges in France. The pass gets its name from the German word Schlucht, which means mountain gorge.
In this place, the mountain range forms the border between the regions of Alsace and Lorraine.
The highest point is located in Alsace (department of Haut-Rhin) at 1139 meters.
During winter, skiing is possible in this area. The Schlucht-le Collet-Retournemer ski area has 9 slopes.
The Col de la Schlucht has been included multiple times (in 1931, 1957, 1961, 1969, 1970, 1973, 1992, 2005, and 2009) in the Tour de France, where the col is designated as a second category climb. The following riders were the first to reach the top during the passages of the Col de la Schlucht in the Tour de France:
