Musée de la Nacre et de la Tabletterie

Located in the heart of the city par excellence of mother-of-pearl, Méru, and housed in a 19th century factory, the museum preserves and presents a local craft. The trades of button maker and tabletier, bearers of a centuries-old tradition of working with mother-of-pearl and semi-precious materials, will be exposed to you by our demonstrator guides. You will discover with them the manufacture of a mother-of-pearl button in a faithfully reconstituted button maker's workshop activated by a steam engine. Admire superb collector's items such as fans and tableware presented in playful discovery furniture. Guided tours and demonstrations at 3 and 4:15 pm.
