The Somport Tunnel is an international railway tunnel of 7,874 meters built between 1908 and 1915 that allowed the connection of France and Spain via the Pau - Canfranc line. The Spanish entrance is located in the village of Canfranc, at an altitude of 1,195 meters, and the French entrance, at 1,075 meters, is found in the railway colony of Les Forges d'Abel, created from the construction of the line and the tunnel.
