The Stéphane Mallarmé Departmental Museum is a museum of the Departmental Council of Seine-et-Marne, located in the holiday home of the poet Stéphane Mallarmé in Vulaines-sur-Seine, in the Seine-et-Marne department.Stéphane Mallarmé discovered this former inn in 1874, rented two rooms upstairs, accessible by an external staircase, stayed there with his family or alone regularly until his death in September 1898. A hundred-year-old white chestnut tree, planted around 1880, welcomes visitors.
