Listed as a Historical Monument, this magnificent remnant of the second monastery was originally established for Franciscan monks, the first convent outside the city walls having been destroyed. The complex consisted of a church, a cloister, a garden, a wine storehouse, a vat room, a cellar, a courtyard and a main building.
The last monks present were expelled during the French Revolution and the convent was sold, in poor condition, as a national asset in 1791.
Today a true haven of peace and relaxation, a guided historical tour of the site and the cellars is proposed. The estate also has a wine bar serving Les Cordeliers sparkling wines, by the glass or by the bottle, accompanied by sweet and savoury delicacies. Picnic lunch baskets and cold drinks are also available for sale.
