The castle of Salgas is located near Vebron in Lozere and is the subject of an inscription as a historical monument since 1991.
This castle is mentioned as early as 1312. Nothing remains of the medieval castle, which must have been completely transformed in the 16th or 17th century. Modifications were made from the 18th century onwards. Those of the 19th century helped to accentuate the 18th century appearance with the addition of pediments on the main façades and the balcony to the south, transformation of the entrance door, replacement of the lauzes by slates, creation of mansards with dormer windows, construction of the north-west tower...
The care provided to the outside environment follows the same approach. The castle has a residential aspect that no longer retains any military or defensive references.
