Situated opposite the house Verlaine rented, not far from his farm, the Auberge is now the Musée Verlaine. In this "lodge on foot and on horseback", the furniture has not moved, time has stood still and the soul has remained intact. Much more than a simple evocation of the poet, this 1500m² site will take you back to his life and work, thanks to a unique iconographic collection, a high-quality guided tour, the complete works (prose, poetry and correspondence) and, of course, the unique atmosphere you feel as soon as you cross the threshold. After your visit, you'll still have to discover the 1000m² old garden, the temporary exhibitions and the bistro. INTERPRETATION TRAIL Starting from the Musée Verlaine, the Juniville Interpretation Trail invites you to discover Juniville's heritage by walking in the footsteps of Paul Verlaine, while retracing the poet's life and work. 9 viewpoints have been set up in the village, each adorned with informative consoles, silhouettes, informative slides, poetry whisperers and more. If you'd like to take your walk further, learn more about Verlaine, or just have some fun with the family, ask the museum for a booklet entitled "Jour de foire à Juniville en compagnie de Verlaine" (Fair day in Juniville in the company of Verlaine). With its riddles, illustrations and other anecdotes, you'll learn more about Juniville's beautiful heritage!
