Located in the cemetery near the church, the Schorbach ossuary is one of the most interesting remains of medieval architecture in the region. Schorbach was a former mother parish, on which Bitche depended. The Schorbach ossuary is believed to have been built around 1125. The architecture of the present building is said to date from the 15th century. The beautiful Romanesque colonnade (each in a different style) bears witness to the extraordinary care devoted at that time to the construction of the ossuaries. The ossuary is filled with more than 100 m3 of bones and hundreds of skulls. It is one of the first buildings in the Pays de Bitche to have been declared a Historic Monument in 1889.
