The Chaussée Brunehaut of Brunehault was the name of several Roman roads built in northern France and Belgium, particularly the route from Amiens via Bavay and Liberchies to Tongeren (the Via Belgica).
This name refers to Brunhilde of Austrasia (534-613), a Visigothic princess who was regent of Austrasia and Burgundy from 567 to 613. During that period, the old Roman roads were restored, hence the name reference.
The highway can also be found on the legendary Tabula Peutingeriana.
