The castle contains a large square keep with stones in a herringbone pattern. In the twentieth and thirteenth centuries the seven were added. The castle has a long history, a major devastating fire in 1428 followed by a reconstruction in the 15th and 16th centuries. Once founded to keep out the Normans. later residence for the Duchess of Armagnac but also prison in the French Revolution.
The castle is now a local history museum with presentations about the 'Perche' region and horse breed. In addition, there is 'Atelier de parfums'.
