The small village of La Petite-Pierre is located in the heart of the Vosges du Nord Regional Natural Park. The exhibitions in the castle illustrate through text and image the nature and culture of the park and of course the history of this twelfth-century castle. The castle was remodelled several times. Vauban made his contribution to this in the eighteenth century. It is from this period that the main remains date: the defensive works, the water tank, the ramparts and the watchtowers. The church in front of the entrance to the castle preserves fifteenth-century frescoes and the tombstones of the local lords La-Petite-Pierre is known for its castle but also "especially among bikers" for Le Lion d'Or. This hotel, located at the foot of the castle hill, is a member of the Motor Bike Hotels. An excellent coffee is served on the terrace with an apple pie.
