Whether you're a family, a couple or a group of friends, Kintzheim will win you over with its colorful houses, its many activities and its authenticity.
Kintzheim is crossed from north to south by the Route des Vins d?Alsace, situated between the vineyards, the mountains and their many hiking trails, and the Route des Châteaux.
A visit to the Volerie des Aigles, set up in 1968 in the medieval setting of the 13th-century Château de Kintzheim, is a must. This is the oldest of Kintzheim's three animal parks, and the first in France to showcase the world's largest birds of prey flying in complete freedom.
Then a stop at the Montagne des Singes (Monkey Mountain) in the middle of the forest near the road leading from Kintzheim to Haut-Koenigsbourg. La Montagne des Singes is a wildlife park where over 200 Barbary macaques, also known as "magots", live in freedom in 24ha of forest.
For younger visitors, Cigoland is a fun and educational amusement park. It's an amusement park with play areas, giant ducks on a water basin, electric car tours, a monorail that passes over stork nests? The park is home to numerous white storks, as well as other wild and farm animals.
For hiking, biking and mountain-biking enthusiasts, Kintzheim offers a wide range of paths and trails, signposted by the Club Vosgien, as well as cycle routes. The famous Alsace vineyard cycle route also passes through the village.
Take advantage of your visit to the village to stop off at the wine cellars to taste the Praelatenberg Grand Cru, before enjoying a tarte flambée or other Alsatian speciality in one of Kintzheim?s restaurants.
