In the heart of the village, the Domaine de la Chanterelle has long housed an amusement park for children with games, slides and swimming pool. For about ten years, it has been private and devoted to receptions in a remarkable green setting. The White Castle, a large square building dating from the nineteenth century, has been converted into a luxury hotel-restaurant. On the medieval road that leads to Messines, you will also see the farm of Arras, behind its monumental porch. This square-courtyard building hosts seminars and training.
One cannot evoke the architectural heritage of Verlinghem without lingering rue de la Fontaine in front of the hagiographic monument dedicated to Saint-Chrysole. In the fourth century, this Armenian Catholic preacher was sent by the Pope, with Saint-Piat, to northern Gaul. Its mission is to evangelize as many pagans as possible. Around 303, he crossed paths with Romans at Verlinghem. They chase him and scalp him with a sword. Legend has it that a miraculous spring sprang up at the place of his fall. Therefore, the blessed water would cure sore throats and eye problems. The fountain is also classified as a historical monument and has recently been renovated by the village.
