This lake is one of the rarest glacial overglacial lakes in the Alsatian Vosges and the most intact according to geologists!
Invaded by its peat, its water surface is 6 hectares, compared to more than 30 hectares at the end of the 14th century.
The fauna and flora are protected, the presence of beavers and carnivorous plant species - such as the Drosera - makes this lake a place of study for botanists and zoologists
Will-o'-the-wisps can sometimes be seen lighting up in hot, humid weather on the peaty edges.
Ideally located at the edge of the lake discover the guest rooms of the Villa du Lac.
Activities: fishing and walking around the lake, swimming forbidden!
Access: 15 minutes walk from the village, parking on the Place de l'Eglise, Sewen lake circuit
