Conflans is an ancient medieval city in Tarentaise, which is now part of the municipality of Albertville, in the department of Savoie in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
This fortified medieval village protected the entrance to the Tarentaise valley. It was the administrative seat of the province of Haute-Savoie. The city merged on December 19, 1835, with the village of L'Hôpital-sous-Conflans, located below, in the plain, to form the new town of Albertville.
