The building is one of the jewels of the capital and the most emblematic place of the National Museum of Natural History. Created from the former Gallery of Zoology in 1889, the museum focuses on the evolution of animal species since the appearance of life on Earth. It houses more than 7,000 larger-than-life specimens and covers 6,000 m² on four levels. The discovery of its 30-metre high nave is one of the highlights of the visit. The building also houses the Children's Gallery.
