The Oise-Pays de France Regional Nature Park , created on 13 January 2004 by decree of the Prime Minister, covers 59 municipalities in the departments of Oise and Val-d'Oise . It is one of the few parks spread over two administrative regions ( Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France regions ), the first Picard Regional Nature Park is the 4th created in Île-de-France .
The park's main mission is to preserve a peri-urban area of great historical and architectural richness with over a hundred historic monuments classified or inscribed, but threatened by land pressure due to the proximity of the Paris agglomeration. and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport . Located mainly on the left bank of the Oise , linking the country of France , to the south, and the plain of Valois , to the east, the territory is characterized by the presence of three forest massifs totaling nearly twenty thousand hectares, but also by small rivers forming wetlands with a rich biotope, as well as some heather heaths.
