It was built around 1852 by the ironmaster Alexandre Gouvy and became the favorite vacation spot of his brother, the composer Theodore Gouvy. The Institut Théodore Gouvy has successfully restored the reputation of this long forgotten musician by publishing and performing his works throughout the world. The Villa currently houses the headquarters of the Institut Théodore Gouvy. The Villa is currently closed for rehabilitation and upgrading.
