Le Scala is one of the buildings of the Couvent de la Congrégation Notre-Dame. After being sold as national property in 1791, Le Scala has served a variety of functions.
In 1828, the town council voted to build an Italian-style theater in the right wing of the Augustines building, with plans drawn up by architect Grillot.
Completely restored between 1891 and 1893 by local artist Gaston Save, the theatre's décor was painted, and in 1925 it was opened to the public for the first time.
The cinema closed its doors in August 2018, pending a new function.
1 century of screenings have taken place in this room rich in history!
This building is only open for guided tours (with the exception of the Heritage Days weekend) organized by the Office de Tourisme de l'Ouest des Vosges.
