The first evangelical service was held in Forbach with the permission of Mayor Barrabino in 1841. The Protestant parish was officially established in 1869 by Napoleon III. At that time, there were 1250 Protestants in the town and the construction of a new place of worship became necessary. In 1889, the architect Wahn de Metz drew up the plans and the consecration of the Protestant church in the Neo-Gothic style took place on 1 November 1892.
